Chairman's Notes December 2020

Dec 28, 2020 ·   Chairman's Notes

Managers, thank you so much for all your help in getting FHC through 2020, and here's hoping next year will be a great year. I have a few things to go over with you prior to our January tournaments. I am disappointed that some of you are not playing next weekend in Polk County. Some of you decided not to play because it is close to January 1 but 75 teams decided that they would play.

We have decided to stop the temperature checks and the wristbands, and put the responsibility squarely on you Managers. You must make sure that every single Player is healthy, and does not even bring a cold to the ballpark. Make sure you go over that with all of your Players during the week before the tournament.

Make sure your team is at the ball field at least one game early just in case there is a need to start the game before the scheduled time. This normally only happens if bad weather is pending, or if we go to shortened games. The 30 minute rule does not exist and has not existed for many years.

There will be Manager's Meetings in February, and all teams should be represented, especially any new Managers.

All new and returning teams should send their Team Registration form to our Treasurer, Al Melendez, and all Roster information should be sent to our Secretary, Greg Hazel. Their addresses are on the proper forms. All Player Registrations and Replacement Forms should be sent to me. My address is on each of the forms. If you are playing in a tournament soon, make sure you have all of the needed forms in to the right person so you are eligible to play.

When you do inform FHC that you are entering a tournament, you must pay your entry fee before the tournament, or you will pay a late fee. Contact Al Melendez before the tournament and that will save you some money.

***** We will start checking FHC cards and license IDs in February. *****

If a member of your team does not have a FHC card, make sure that Player contacts me ASAP to avoid problems at the field.

Do not expect to turn in Roster changes at the tournament. Roster additions and changes must be done on the proper forms and sent to the Secretary. His address is on the form.

Save yourself and Players some grief, and get information sent to you forwarded to them in a timely manner. If you do not have access to a computer, then assign one of your Players to send information along. Like the law says, "Ignorance is no excuse."

See you soon,

Mike Knowles
FHC Chairman
