Managers, it seems that about once a year we feel compelled to explain again why we cancel tournaments. It is not something we take lightly. I have a Committee that monitors the weather for every FHC event. If you live near the tournament site, of course you want us to wait as long as possible to cancel because you do not have to worry about traveling. But, we have teams coming from Tallahassee to Miami, and Jacksonville to Naples. They must stay in Hotels, usually both nights, and they deserve to know if there is a great possibility of bad weather. Also, they must cancel their rooms by Thursday at 4pm or they will be charged. On Thursday morning, we had a forecast of 70% chance of rain on both days, so I contacted all my Committee members, and we all agreed to pull the plug on this weekend. That is it in a quick message. We must consider all teams and Players, and decide on the best interest of everyone concerned.
